Volunteerism
Giving back to the community.
Baxter is passionate about giving back to the community. Across the globe, employees come together to dedicate time and effort to worthy causes. In 2011, Baxter employees performed 131,000 hours of volunteer work. This extraordinary achievement is a concrete example of the continuing commitment to community service in the locations where we operate. Every year, employees are encouraged to participate in Baxter’s Global Service Program to advance our culture of volunteerism and support of the community. Employee involvement takes many forms, such as volunteering at a local school or a blood drive, serving at a hospital or food pantry, building homes for needy families, participating in community park clean-up days, or joining a local nonprofit board or committee. Employees at each facility select volunteer activities and organizations to support, as they are best able to determine the most relevant and impactful projects.
